An update from Paris!
Hi all!!! Hope you had a fantastic Christmas reflecting on the birth of Jesus. Mine was AMAZING!!!! I recommend a German Christmas with the Melches family to anyone!!!! But more about that later!!!....
It's been such a long time since i last posted!!! internet access has been tricky, but we have located a place in paris and have a small amount of time here. my apologies now for any random symbols or letters (particularly , for m substututions cos this french keyboard is a little confusing for ,e so has slowed ,e down a bit. apologies also for the brevity.... i have actually been typing for the last 35 minutes & did quite a good job but unfortunately i ,anaged to delete it while trying tio copy it and paste it into a word docu,ent... french computers... so, after a couple of deep breaths i am starting again...
We left off at Edinburgh. I really enjoyed my time there, thanks Lucas for your hospitality!!! Fro, there we headed south to York. Although a popular toursit destination, still had that small town feel to it which i appreciated. After an early morning (much to Cristie's disdain), we managed to attend 2 services at York Minster: massive cathedral towering above any other structure in the town. inside was incedible, and to be singing songs in there withthe choir was just amazing. Nicole caught the train from Manchester to join us for the day which was GREAT!!! Thanks for the cookies!!!! After this we went to Becks Row, a VERY small town outside of Cambridge where we stayed zith Pastor George and Charlotte Samiec. Made it just in ti,e for the joint Lutheran-Methodist carols service where we joined in with the other Lutherans in the 'Lutheran' section to sing a song up the front ( thankfully we knew it)! After a hearty meal and finding out Crsitie got qn OP1 (big congrats to her!!!!) and de-icing the car, we 'flew' to Heathrow airport to get the catr back in time... thankfully it passed the inspection with 'not damaged'... after me hitting a grassy knoll while trying to park it and pulling a bit of the underside of the bumper off... i reported it though and all was good. no need for trvel insurance to be utilised..
Mammoth effort expended making our way to our hostel on Picadilly Circus: with one big suitcase that behaved itself, and a smaller but just as heavy suitcase that refused to put two wheels on the ground at any one time... and metros that are WITHOUT lifts... an OT's nightmare. as you can imagine, we were quite a sight!!! Upon arrival we found Jordan and Ellie in the reception!!!!! I was SOOO excited to finally see them after not being able to share the immediate excitement of their engagement with them. It was a moment for joyous tears.
AND my time is up but will continue the update VERY VERY soon!!! Mark my words!!!!
Love to all and HAPPY NEW YEAR from Paris!!!! Anisia xox
