On the road to Manchester
We left Wroughton and began the drive to Manchester. It was a slightly scary morning of iced up car windows and icy roads but once the sun came up all was well and the drive was uneventful. On the way we paid a visit to Warwick Castle, a very well set up castle that you can walk through. It's all set up with manequins and furniture just like it used to be when people lived in it. There was a massive ice skating rink in the middle of the castle yard which was pretty cool.
After the castle we beelined to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace and home of William Shakespeare. We went on a tour through the house he grew up in and spent a bit of time in the museum attached to the same property. It didn't feel real, that we were standing in the very house of one of the greatest writers in history, but there we were...
From there we drove to Manchester which took quite some time, but made enjoyable by our continuously questioning the UK road signs, a few wrong turns, and a couple of quizzes on countries and cities of the world. We tried to name all 50 states of America but only got to 34...
Now we are at Nicole's apartment on the outskirts of the city centre. Danny and Cristie are having a nap on the couch so decided to make use of the time. Danny's hard drive is connected so will try grab some photos off of it for you. There are also a heap of photos on his bugbitten website which you can access from his blog: danielqually.blogspot.com
Taking out the thanksgiving turkey, a true honour!

We climbed in the 2nd one...

So much fun!
OK! That's all I have time to get up this morning. Hope all is well in Aus, and that you are managing to escape the heatwave that I have been told is hitting you right now. It sounds nasty... On the opposite end of the spectrum, I had a freezing cold shower this morning- as cold as the water in the canal outside I reckon... It was really nasty, but I guess it was refreshing? I don't think the apartment is built to manage 5 people showering of a morning... but it sure is nice and warm inside! I am so thankful to have such a nice place to stay in! Thanks Nic!
Thanks also to those posting comments on this site!!! I love reading them, they make me smile =)

Hey Neish!
Yip, you sure are lucky to escape the heat here in qld! Dont know about a cold shower on winter morning in England. But somewhere in the middle would be great! Very natural to question road signs that you are not use to, but hey, they have been saving lives for many years in that country. Those photos were great! especially the silo ones! i too want to do that! What about a huge silo of beer! hahaha......or honey roasted peanuts!hhmm....
