Welcome to Anisia-world! Every change to this blog is special, because it doesn't happen very often. I promise to work better to keep it updated!

BIRTHDAY: 08.08.06

I am a firm believer that no one should have no work on their birhdays, so where possible, taking days off should be allowed and certainly not frowned upon. Thus, on Tuesday morning, I had no 5am wake up or 2 hr train trip... I took the liberty of organising to have the day off as soon as I found out it was on a weekday (about a week after starting my new job)...

I filled my day with lots of 'Anisia-things' like: the ritualistic opening of presents on the parents' bed; spending time in bed reading with the cats snuggling with me: one on top of the covers and one underneath (no guessing which was which...); 'shouting' myself to coffee with the FREE voucher Zaraffas sent me because they must appreciate my custom =) So a Grande White Chocolate Mocha- Skinny Milk... was what I had =) Thoroughly enjoyable; a walk through the neighbourhood- the wattles are flowering!!! SO precious... and to finish it all off, a special dinner with an extra special friend, Cherie (see picture).

We ate at Blue Fire Grill, Marina Mirage. Only ate there because I heard about it from a Bank Teller who got extremely excited when she looked at my licence and saw that it was my birthday that day.. she asked what I was doing for dinner... and when I said I still wasn't sure, got VERY excited about this restaurant... so excited that she dialled 12456 to get the number so I could call and make a booking! Even better: it's 50% off on Tueday nights!!! PERFECT!

Check it out: www.bluefiregrill.com.au we had the Churrascaria BBQ which is a series of giant skewers with different marinated meat on each one (sausage, beef, pork, lamb, chicken, fish, calamari) all of which are brought to you in the course of the evening by knife wielding waitors who carve the meat off and you take as much as you like. The giant skewers keep coming until you can have to wave them away as you undo the top button of your pants!... Yes, you get vegies, but this is one resetaurant that you would NOT take a vegetarian to. In addition to the roaming skewers, there is a camera on the meat as it cooks and there are multiple plasma screens around the restaurant so you can always see your laming meat. Vegetarians wouldn't make it through the door...

I highly recommend a night out at Blue Fire: preferably Tuesday (1/2 price) and I say a special THANKS to the Bank Teller who was attentive enough to realise it was my birthday.

Sounds like a really cool night, Neish. There's another nice restaurant there that we went to for Mel Whittaker's going away; Omeros' Brothers. Nice, but probably twice the price - perhaps for a very special occasion sometime.
Loving the more up to date blogs!
Love Ellie
