Ann Arbor!

HI!!!! I am now in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I am at the uni on free internet for a few moments so thought I'd post just so you can sleep better at night knowing I haven't dropped off the face of the planet =)

All I can say is WOW!!! The trip so far has been amazing!!!! After lengthy delays at Auckland and LA (caused by leaking petrol from the wing of our plane at Auckland airport...), we finally made it to Las Vegas!!! Jen and her brother Matt were there to meet us with our own "Aussie party of two" sign. Poker machines as soon as you step into the airport off of the plane... crazy!... Quick recap of signts seen: Hoover Dam (by day and night), Flagstaff and Lava caves, Grand canyon camping... no words can describe how amazing that was, trip down 'the strip' in Las Vegas (spent some quality time watching the water display out front of the Bellagio, Ocean's 12)... and a MASSIVE thanksgiving feast! I got to poke the turkey with lemon and garlic sauce and then pull it out of the pot of oil! So cool. Flew to Detroit 2 days ago where Ellie and Lois picked us up and drove us to Ann Arbor. It was really great to see Ellie again. I didn't let myself realise how much I missed her until I hugged her at the airport. I'm so happy to be here.

As soon as we got out of the airport, I got to touch REAL SNOW!!!! and that night it SNOWED!!!! So I jumped in it and kicked it and threw it and really just soaked up the moment =) SO AMAZING... We've had a great few days with Daniel's extended family, visiting Ellie and Lois' churches and just checking out Ann Arbor in general (purchased a Michigan t-shirt today: very cool). WOW. I have SOO much more to write about but must get going cos we gotta catch a bus home very soon. I am spending a good few hours at Uof M while Ellie is at class on Tues so will post more detail (and photos) then =) Miss you all. Take care. Love Anisia =)
